Frequently Asked Questions
I need a quote. Whom do I contact?
Call Natalia Matusik, Esq. at: 858-868-1810 for a free quote.
What is Professional Licensing?
Licensing is intended to ensure that only competent and ethical individuals practice in an occupation. Examples of occupations licensed in many states include: teachers, land surveyors, doctors, lawyers, cosmetologists, nurses, building contractors, counselors, therapists, and electricians.
What are the payment methods you accept?
Generally, there is an upfront retainer fee, however, we have budget plans for most financing.
Are you the right Attorney for me?
You will have to be the judge of that! Give me a call and we can discuss your case. I offer a free consultation up to one hour.
How will I be kept informed about my case?
Per our retainer agreement it will set out the terms and conditions. I will make reasonable attempts to update you. Hours of operation are generally 9-5, Mon-Friday with weekends and holidays off. Phone calls will be answered in a reasonable manner.
How can I contact your office?
I make myself available for my clients by cellular phone. If you’ve retained me then you have my contact information. I generally will return calls if I am not in court or a meeting on a fairly quickly basis.
Do I really need an attorney?
I would highly suggest retaining an attorney. Many times without an attorney licensing boards tend to dominate hearings. You truly need an experienced attorney to guide you and represent you.
How long does a license case take?
It just depends on the board and what the allegations set forth are. It also may include a criminal law matter that is contemporaneous with the board hearing. My position is to fight for you.
What if I have criminal charges?
First, I have to hear your story. Next, hopefully through discovery get the charging documents and all discovery. In other words, get all the evidence pending against you. There will be pleas and motions over time. Some cases can be done quickly and some take years.
Will the Licensing Board Contact Me?
Yes, oftentimes by mail. However, you could receive electronic mail as well. You should not make any statements or respond until you speak with an attorney first.
